My path to cybersecurity has been pretty unconventional. An undergraduate degree in the social sciences (Double Major in Criminal Justice & Sociology) and a broadly focused graduate degree (Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness), where I had some exposure to cybersecurity concepts. Jobs as an Anti-Money Laundering Investigator, Background Investigator, and Compliance Analyst, to name a few, its pretty obvious that the majority of my educational and professional experiences don't visibly translate to cybersecurity. However, I didn't let that stop me from my dream. It takes a lot of hard work and time, but it can certainly be done, I'm proof.
